Modern artificial intelligence finally made it possible to solve those problems differently. Artificial intelligence was the enabling technology. Executive experience defined the problem.

Patrick Mixon has spent his executive career inside the operating reality of associations — building, leading, and advising organizations whose boards demanded more clarity than the available tools could provide.
Years of leading finance, operations, technology, and strategic planning created recurring questions that no existing system addressed:
- Why are organizations surprised by structural problems that were developing for years?
- Why do boards often receive excellent reports but still lack operating visibility?
- Why do executive teams discover structural exposure only after it becomes operational pressure?
These observations eventually became the foundation for AssocModel.

Origin
Why AssocModel was built.
Traditional planning systems organize information. AssocModel was designed to continuously understand relationships — the structural connections between revenue, membership, sponsorship, events, and governance that determine whether an association is resilient or fragile.
Too many association boards have been surprised by avoidable outcomes: reserves consumed faster than expected, sponsorship categories collapsing in ways forecasts did not anticipate, membership erosion masked by averaging.
The surprises were rarely about math. They were about structure — about the absorption capacity of the organization beneath the plan. AssocModel was built to make that structure legible to the executives and boards responsible for it.
AssocModel represents the convergence of:
